Question:

I am now definitely lighter than my previously lowest weight for SIXTEEN YEARS. Life feels good more and more…

Good going, Dan, and isn’t that feeling great! And, sorry if my posts attract trolls, either of the cruel or dumb sort. Another charmer from m.f.m told me I had an incurable disease (but which I’ve cured… wow!) – still, as his strange data shows that he is only about thirty inches tall, and can’t do simple math though he is an engineer… ;-) Laughter helps. The other one won’t be back.

Dan, could you pleeeeeeease stop crossposting — maybe if I beg?  What happens is that people who don’t know this group end up here by accident (not to mention the trolls), and arguments get started which make ASD a pain to read.  Cutting and pasting your post and sending it to each group individually would accomplish what you want with just a tiny little effort which I, for one, would truly appreciate.  As it is, there are days I dread coming here because of all the crossposting of late, even with well-honed killfiles.  I can’t be the only one who minds because traffic on ASD is dramatically down since this summer. Then again, if someone can tell me how to eliminate all cross-posted threads in Agent, I’d be really grateful, but I’d miss Dan’s posts which are interesting and informative. One question I must ask…what sort of nutrition plan you gonna follow once you reach your target weight? How’s your bodyfat% going? You consider 2200cals a crash?? I think you need to look at a game plan for long term success. Maybe you should up the exercise intensity a little more so you can have a more tolerable caloric intake. Also a footnote – I’d be wary of following BMI. Particularly if you ever decide to do weights training or high level aerobic activity, concentrate more on what you bodyfat % is…I’d even say that is definitely more important than what the scales say. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Thanks folks, for the links to pictures of people along the way of their diets – they sure helped. The maths shows that the first half (by weight) of a diet produces far smaller changes in inches than the second half. Is it true also that the visual effect of (say) the last one third is about the same (if not more) this true? The reason I had not posted for 10 days is that my weight stuck at 223 lbs or higher for almost a week (despite my dieting pretty exactly to plan; OK, one semi-binge day but that only to 2200 Kcal) according to my scales.. I was getting depressed about it :( Then.. whoosh.. all off :) I know it is water retention, the body does strange things. Can be depressing though. The rate of weight loss is reducing, as is definitely desirable. Whether or not I switch to low carb (I’m following the Transition thread) when I get closer to goal, I wish to gradually reduce the rate of weight loss along the way… less chance of a rebound then, I think. Any views? Now for the bulletin. 60 days down the line on phase II of my low-calorie, low-fat diet (phase I took me from 301 lbs to 253 lbs) and I have lost 35 lbs so far. Overall it is 72.5 lbs down and (only?) 58 lbs still to go… (58.9% of the way to goal weight). Average Weight Loss for phase II = 4.0 lb/week. Average Weight Loss last week    = 3.1 lbs Average intake per day: 1350 KCals – masses of salads. I am exercising reasonably now (21 miles per week brisk walking or faster), drinking lots and lots of water, getting about 90gm of protein/day (shrimps, cockles, mussels, cod, beans, lentils) and taking a good multivitamin + minerals supplement. Also, some thermogenic/nootropic smart drugs (ECA stack, L-Glutamine, Chromium Picolinate, Pyruvate Fuel, Metabolic Thyrolean, L-Tyrosine, extra Lecithin/Choline, Magnesium Phosphate, green tea etc.: some of these are rotated intelligently; none is over-used) I am now definitely lighter than my previously lowest weight for SIXTEEN YEARS. Life feels good more and more… By the way, my real goal is about 165-170 lbs (=BMI 23.5), not 160 lbs, but the way I weigh myself (bowels moved, and after long hot bath so mega-perspiration) understates my weight by about 5 lbs. However, it gives consistent daily readings (except last week…). And, sorry if my posts attract trolls, either of the cruel or dumb sort.
