Question:

In order to lose this weight & keep it off forever, I’ve adjusted my daily fat intake to be no more than about 10 grams (give or take a gram) per day. **** Posted from RemarQ – http://www.remarq.com – Discussions Start Here ™ ****

Response:

i would have to say that my fat intake the day before my life began again was well over 200+ grams per day, I mean i ate like food was going out of style, I believe that the so called experts say that based on a 2000 cal diet your fat grams should consist of no more than 25-30% of your daily caloric intake, but don’t quote me on that, its been awhile since i’ve read it. Congratulations, 70 lbs is one hell of a lot of weight to be rid of. I’ve just started a low fat diet and it seems to be working, 12 lbs gone so far. I wanted ask you though, what was a typical amount of fat for you a day before you started on your current plan. Im trying to get an idea as to what specific changes in fat consumption do to weight. Im still not quite sure as to whats a good amount. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – As of March 22, 1999 I have lost 70lbs. My typical daily meals consist of the following; (Breakfast) at <7am 1 bowl of cereal (any kind) w/ 1 banana, 1 glass water kind of fat free item ie.. fruit, vegetable, yougart cup Parkway fatfree spray butter & Breakstone’s Fatfree sour cream w/salad & fat (6pm) 5 strips baked skinless chicken breast, vegetables, salad, baked potato, 1 bread roll with 1 gram of fat or less, & 1 glass of snacks…. That is pretty much it, sometimes for dinner i will have 1 hamburger instead of chicken, or maybe i’ll be in the mood for a steak, just remember to keep your daily fat intake at around 10grams, and to watch your servings, just because its low or fat free doesn’t mean all you can eat! and the most important things of all is to drink plenty of water & if your hungry in between any of the times i’ve listed above then by all means eat something as long as its low or at free to get you by.  If you have a specific question please write me anytime, I WILL HELP AS BEST I CAN!!!! **** Posted from RemarQ – http://www.remarq.com – Discussions Start Here ™ ****

You betcha…Low fat is awesome for me!  No hunger pains.  I eat often during the day, work out each evening.  Working like a charm. but each to his own.  Some really do well on the other types as well.  One of my friends is doing the low carb, and she is having good results as well though I have noticed that she is not losing at the same rate I am.  Mind you that may have nothing at all to do with the WOE. I don’t want to start a war but I have read posts on the low carb site that tells people they can’t lose weight and will be miserable "Think of this, if you went on a low calorie, low fat diet (like I have), you’d be miserable, have no energy AND your body would react by slowing down the metabolic process, you wouldn’t lose any weight at all! Plus those hunger headaches are a killer…." I have lost 23 lbs in six weeks and like you will not stop until I’m happy. I am less and less hungry every day, have no headaches, am full of energy and run on a treadmill for 30 minutes 7 days a week. We’re proving them wrong. As of March 22, 1999 I have lost 70lbs. dear chuck, there are those who make "no room" for other’s opinions! if the traditional low fat diet works for you, do it! in this society, (mine being USA) it is a much easier diet to follow! i like a combination of the low fat, low calorie, low carb, as outlined in and helps with the weightloss.
